Saturday afternoon found us at a maypole dancing workshop - it was great fun.
Then this Sunday afternoon we gathered on the village green in the neighbouring village Toft for some real country dancing - it was great fun and the girls did brilliantly.
Then we headed off to the local Anglican Church to dress the well!
The Anglican minister shared about the significance of water in the bible and how the bible talks about being washed clean - which concluded with the ministers present showering everyone with some of the water from the well!
A short service in the church drew out the importance of some of these traditions in a village and how they seek to strengthen faith, drawing on issues of community and justice.
Followed by a lovely tea in the manor!
Before heading home!
Having grown up in towns this sort of festival was something we had learned about but never experienced so it was great to be a part of it, and it really was a lovely day.
